Here’s his 10-step framework: the rhythm behind the world’s most captivating talks, from Martin Luther King to Simon Sinek (at the end, you find a free PDF download link to Asger's framework).
Your 10-Step Talk Framework
1. Hook Them Fast
Grab attention immediately: a personal story, bold question, or surprising stat.
Example: “It’s never been easier to get your message out, but it’s also never been harder to make anyone care.”
2. Introduce Yourself
Three sentences: your name, passion, and experience.
Example: “Hi, I’m Asger Lindholdt. I love public speaking and want to share the most impactful lessons I’ve learned over 10+ years in this industry.”
3. Make It Matter
Explain why your talk is important before sharing solutions.
Example: “If you master transformational talks, you can make in a day what most make in a month, and deeply impact people with what you love.”
4. Lift Your Audience
Praise their presence, energy, and mission. Make them feel seen.
Example: “You came here to make a difference. You’re putting in the work even if results aren’t visible yet. Most choose comfort over effort, but not you. You’re showing up, and I admire that.”
5. Shift Gears
Smoothly transition into your first key point, e.g. storytelling.
Example: “Last year, I had a conversation that completely changed how I approach storytelling…”
6. Tell a Story
Use real, relevant stories tied to your key learning.
Example: “I once failed spectacularly at a presentation. I learned more from that one day than months of planning, and it changed the way I connect with audiences.”
7. Give the Framework Solution
Provide 3–6 actionable steps your audience can follow.
Example: “Here’s a simple 4-step framework to make your pitch stick: Hook → Personal intro → Problem → Solution”
8. Call to Action
Tell them what to do next, and show the reward of action, and the cost of inaction.
Example: “Find your message, craft your stories, and deliver your talk. Do nothing, and your ideas may never reach those who need them. Take action, and you could inspire someone or transform your own life.”
9. Repeat for Subpoints
For talks with multiple subpoints, use steps 5–8 for each.
10. End with Emotional Impact
Recap the key points. Remind them of the pain of silence versus the gain of action. Connect it to a daily habit.
Example: “Next time you start your car, share a story or advice. If you don’t practice, you can’t learn. Make learning a habit (action). If you stay silent, your ideas will die with you and never reach those who need them (pain). But if you act, you will inspire someone, spark change, and grow your influence in ways you never imagined (gain).”
Pro Tip: Watch a popular TED/TEDx talk (100k+ views) with this framework in mind. Chances are, it follows 80–100% of these steps. Coffee is on me if I’m wrong!
